Geez, time is flying. Not really, but I always feel like I’m looking back more than looking forward. That makes this hot, sunny weather seem like it’s fleeting. I’m very happy to know I can expect quite a few more months of pleasant weather this year.
So what’s been going on?
My baby is two months old already. I’ve been off work for about that long and while I haven’t done nearly enough with my extra time, I am super relaxed and enjoying the projects I’ve done and the ones I’m still planning.
Charlotte is an extremely happy baby. She is seeing and recognizing people from further away each day. I feel like she can spot me from across the room already. She loves to smile and make noises. I’ve been able to get her to giggle (kinda) with some funny faces and sounds. We’ve taken her to restaurants with us and she has been an angel.
She loves ceiling fans! A lot.
Charlotte’s still a lot of work and demands attention whenever she’s awake, but she’s fun. I’m glad my wife, Colleen, is home for the summer. I don’t know how I’m going to handle all the work by myself when she goes back to school in September. Pray for me…
When I finished my projects in May, I was having a record year for self-employment. I think even now that I’ve taken two months off – soon to be three – it’s going to be a fantastic year. I’ve actually done a couple things for my clients during my time off, but nothing too stressful.
Part of the reason for my stay-at-home vacation is to prep for the launch of a new business. I tried to start it last year, but I just had too much going on and I need my down-time. So now that I have a baby, I thought it was a perfect time to… Oh boy.
I’ll hopefully have more on that new business in the coming weeks. If you’re looking for a web designer and can wait until the fall, please check out the best web designer in Bucks County and drop me a line.
My family is getting ready to spend some time at the New Jersey shore. We’ll be relaxing in Cape May with my parents and hanging out on the Ocean City boardwalk with my extended family. I love Ocean City so much. Hopefully we’ll take a few more trips this summer too.
How has your summer been so far?
